I decided to wait for day two hair as well- so here is the results

I did an ACV rinse and then used the Lustrasilk to do 2 strand twist and then put rollers on the end and went to sleep

Overall – Day 2 was better then Day 1

My hair is really soft, it held it’s shape all day which is new- normally by the end of the day it’s pretty much a fluff ball, and it doesn’t feel like there is any product in it. Plus it’s inexpensive!! All in all an 10± !!

I thought I mentioned this before but going over my posts I see that I haven’t. I’ve really gotten into this hair thing so I decided a few weeks ago to look into some classes in product making. Now these are not chemistry classes, (I’m not becoming scientist, just classes on product mixing and learning about ingredients) still, I think it’s a good starting place to learn more about what I put in my hair. Curlies, I’m at work right now so I can’t post pics till I get home, but I had to post about how happy I am with the results for the Lustrasilk! Really surprised at the results. I’ll put pics up tonight !!!

There has been a lot of comment and hoopla lately about this condish on NC and CN ( a bunch of threads here – So I found an beauty supply store near my work because they did not have this at Boot’s or Sally’s and tonight I’m going to test it. I paid a whopping £1.89! A a side note; anyone else hates going into the ethnic beauty supply stores, or is it was just me.

During the week the straw like feeling continued. But I also felt like my hair was stronger. It’s hard to describe what stronger hair feels like – kinda of like the strands seem more dense. Because of this I decided to henna again the following weekend and this time I only used 100 grams of Henna Boy Red Henna. It was just the right amount . I mixed with some honey this time and left it on for 6 hours again. I deep condished for an hour and a half with coconut oil and yogurt. Then some Pantene Breakage defense. And still my hair feels like straw after. But it does have a lot of bounce. And the curls are more defined. And I do like the color. I decided to see how it will feel mid -week before passing judgment. Next time I think I will try the Honey Suckle Rose like you guys have been suggesting!

Act 1:  A straw-like feeling

After reading ( and reading and reading) about how a lot of people have fell in love with henna and it condition and shine properties, I decided to order 300 grams of henna from HennaBoy Henna. I intended to get Body Art Quality henna – Jamilla Henna everyone seemed to rave about. I somehow got distracted on the site and ended up ordering henna boy red henna- I don’t why .

Anyways, it arrived with instructions to use 200 grams for face length hair. Add enough water to make it mash potatoe-y and leave for 12 hours and then add some more water or lemon juice until the consistency of yogurt. Then it’s ready.

Right off the bat I can tell that 200 grams is way to much for face length hair.   But henna  doesn’t keep for more then a few days so I decide to try and use as much as I can.

I added some yogurt oil olive as well to make it more conditioning. I laid newspaper all over the bathroom floor, donned a pair of latex free gloves and then I applied it to the head with my fingers and man did I make a mess!! When I coated my entire head, wrapped it in plastic wrap and then left it for 6 hours. To rinse, I filled the bathtub up with water and then dunked my head in and swished it around until most of the henna was out. Drained the tub and then hopped in the shower to rinse the rest out. It left my hair feeling like straw. I deep conditioned with Organic Root Stimulator Deep Conditioner for 45 minutes.

MY THOUGHTS: “My hair feels still feels like straw. Hmmm. The color is kind of cool. But it feel like straw.  Maybe the shine and conditioning takes a few days – or a couple of tries”

Actually I received this product free after spending 20 pounds on product- (the fluff ease and the stout shampoo which I reviewed earlier) I had such high hopes for Lush products but I think I’m going to have to admit they’re not for me.

What can I say about this gel. It has no real hold, no “gelling” effect, made my hair fuzzy and greasy. Conditioned a little and smelled great but in the end left me feeling like -What’s the point?
