MICHAEL!! I MISS YOU !!

This is the saddest news. This household contains huge MJ fans and had floor seats to see him at his comeback. He will be sorely missed.

The Afro Hair Live show

It’s been a few weeks now since the hair show live, and I wasn’t going to talk about it because i was incredibly disappointed about it, but a few emails have been sent asking how it was so here is what I thought:

I willing paid 12 pounds to walk into a fairly sparse auditorium full of product stands for weaves, relaxers and inferior products. With the exception of 2 natural product companies, and 1 natural hair seminar performed by a woman who had on a full length weave and was pressing someone’s hair staight, everything else was pretty much what you expect in a BBS store. I head to the stand for the Magazine Black Hair- where they handed out bags filled with product and magazine samples. Which is nice- except all the products had either petroleum or mineral oil in them and the magazine was for Caucasian women from last August. I had to laugh.

I was particularly disappointed in the show guide. Out of 28 pages there were three – yes three- full page adverts for bleaching creams, targeting young women. I was not thrilled say the least.

It was nice to be in a room full of women of color looking for information, help, new styles etc though.

Hot Head Monique Coleman

Monique Coleman's AfroI was flicking through InTouch magazine (hey- i’m vacation!) When I came across a pic of Monique Coleman (High School Musical) looking adorable with a curly fro. Then i realized it was a pic under Hair Don’t section with the caption ” Monique Coleman is usually adorable but here she just looks like she was electrocuted”
Just wanted to say I think she looks cute like this- and boo to Intouch!

Hot Heads

(Bear with me folks, I’m on a deadline and should be back on form next week)

Sunday night on the Beeb has become a graveyard for well intentioned and yet terrible drama that play their 8 ep run and then are never heard of again. Last Sunday was no exception with the launch of the series Hope Springs (which, yes was also the name of that boring romcom 5 years ago.) The 2009 series is based loosely on a premise of 4 ex con women who intend to head to the Caribbean with a shed load of stolen cash. One thing leads to another and they end up broke and in a Scottish village. Yes, let the fun begin.

I bring this up because the only thing interesting in the whole show was the hair that sat upon the character Josie Porritt’s head. That great head of hair belongs to Vinette Robinson, my hot head today….

cutie!

Precious Trailer- Make me cry

I

British Curlies

I am thrilled to announce that there is a new site that launched called BritishCurlies.co.uk. Its goal is to be a resource for all curly girls in the UK from 2a’s to 4c’s . There are great articles, advice and a curl emporium that carries some great product already and will be expanding their inventory – so I urge all British Curlies to check it out!.

You might notice an article or two by me on there. I have been asked to be their Celeb writer- so look out for articles on famous curly heads by yours truly each month as well!
