namesDorothy sent these in and I thank her a million times!!
Have you noticed that ads that are geared to a general female target market tend to use naturals in their ads more and more? I have and I’m lovin’ it! Although this trend is more prominent in the US then here in UK.
My favorite of the below is Nuva ring!
If you’ve seen a great Ad let me know about it! Thanks again Dorothy!
Cherry Lola went Natural Jan 2 2009. She has lived in London England since 2006, but is a Canadian through and through. Follow the journey or better yet share your story with her by emailing

Those were great! I loved the Sun Chip one because I just think the hair looked amazing on the model and I liked the way the sun looked on it. I have seen almost all of those commercials except the latin Ballys one. Natural hair commercials are now really common in Canada too. I see natural hair way more than relaxed hair in Canada.

I Love the Nuva Ring commercial. Everytime it comes on I’m at the edge of my seat waiting for her to take the swim cap off. I love the way her hair bounces back into place.

Natural hair is a part of life, nice to see adverts reflect this.

Looove your “Ads That Rock” section! I actually Googled “natural hair in advertisements” and was routed to your website. Another woman did a blog about this new trend in advertisements, and we are curious about why advertisers seem to choose “curly” haired models, over straightend, or chemically processed African American models in advertisemts. You can find my take on it on the comment section at http://crownnglory.blogspot.com/2009/07/naturals-in-advertising.html
I would be interested in seeing what others think on this topic!
